I found this very interesting story on the construction of the world’s largest tower, under construction in Dubai. Over 700 meters or almost 2300 feet. I am geeking out here, but it is rather fascinating.

Windows Media Player 11.0 was released today. This is Microsoft’s media engine that will run inside of Vista, the update to Windows XP due in November.

I installed it and I can say that it is another rip-off. Oh sure, the Urge music store interface looks a bit different, ok not really. OK, the play button is on the bottom instead of the upper left. Oh yeah, it is black and not a “metal-like” interface. They did attempt to do the whole “reflective artwork” style in the marketing.

Not that iTunes 7 is perfect; WMP 11.0 is a hog. They added views with album artwork, like iTunes, but it is just not as slick. Some of the new visualizations are pretty cool.

Since 1986 and the passing of Halley’s Comet, I have loved viewing these near Earth events. These celestial bodies are beautiful.

The Tigers rest this weekend and get ready for the trip to Knoxville next weekend for another SEC match up.  The rest of the SEC games this season are crucial victories that the Tigers need to have a slim chance of making it to Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game.  In addition to winning out, the tiger must have help from both Auburn and Arkansas to make it to the dance.  Auburn must lose one more, and Arkansas must lose one and Lose to the LSU.  Under that scenario, the Bayou Bengals win the tie-breaker of the three two loss schools.
