Bill was born in Alexandria, Louisiana. The son of Billy and Judy Jackson grew up in many different places as his years gained in number. Whether is was Tucson, AZ, New Orleans, LA, Fayetteville, TN, Tallahassee, FL, or Baton Rouge, LA, each place he resided molded him and gave definition to who he is as a person.

Loyal to long time friends and new ones alike, Bill revels in meeting new people, learning about them, and from them. If you have had he fortune of getting to know Bill on a personal level, then you know he is the type of individual that will give you the shirt off of his back, should you need it, and is insulted if he wasn’t the first person you asked.

A tremendous fan of all types of music, the art was Bill’s driving factor throughout his life. A talented Bass Trombonist, Bill has had the fortune of playing with major artists such as Doc Severinsen, Lou Rawls, The Temptations, and even one gig with Louisiana’s own Harry Connick Jr. at SunFest in West Palm Beach. In his off time he listens to both modern and classic big band, to help unwind. As symphonic and marching band tuba player, Bill also enjoys “classical” music and is considered to be somewhat of a musical expert throughout all genres.

As an athlete, Bill was a ranked high school springboard diverwhile marching in the high school band.

As a graduate of LSU, Bill now calls San Antonio home. You will see him on the roads of South Texas riding his motorcycle, wearing his trademark red Chuck Taylor high-top sneakers. We put the question to him as to why the red “Chucks?”

“(laughs) That is one of those things from my teen years. When I was a scout Second Class, I went to summer camp for the first time at Camp Miles. The “hipper” counselors were wearing “Chucks,” as you call them, as part of the class “A” uniform, along with Ray-ban Wayfarer shades. Two Years later, I became a counselor and continued the tradition. When I got my “rouge” and black Yamaha, I decided to relive some of my youth. I didn’t think much of it until the 2004 Iron Warriors Blessing of the Bikes, in Baton Rouge. I was wearing them and folks I knew just loved the fact that I was in them. Why they were entertained? I don’t know. From some comments I have been razzed with, I am not sure I want to know. I like em’. That’s all that matters.”

Bill’s hobbies include cooking, poker, motorcycling, comedy, and movies.

All of these events and more are the foundation for Bill’s motivation and inspiration.
